Established in the early 1900s, Karribank began as a working dairy and fruit farm before evolving into Western Australia's oldest continuously operated country retreat. The homestead expanded after World War I, with the Faulkner family welcoming guests from across the country. During World War II, Karribank served as a refuge for families from Perth and Singapore, with a school established on-site. Renowned for its historic charm, the retreat has long attracted visitors seeking tranquility, both locally and internationally. In 1997, the Blythe family took ownership and restored the historic buildings, blending heritage with modern comforts. In 2024, new owners acquired Karribank with a commitment to preserve its legacy while creating new experiences for travellers worldwide.
As we look to the future, Karribank is being developed into a mountain country wellness retreat, focusing on holistic renewal for both body and soul. This exciting transformation aligns with Sparrows College’s mission to serve and equip the body of Christ across Western Australia. Our vision for Karribank includes hosting events that provide spiritual nourishment, leadership training, and fellowship opportunities, all set against the backdrop of this serene and inspiring environment.
